The Porter House was originally commissioned in 1876 by philanthropist and horticulturist, Hugh Dixson, and started life as Dixson & Sons’ grand tobacco factory. In 1891, furniture manufacturer WW Campbell & Co and famous leather merchant George Johnson & Sons leased the building, continuing its historical association with quality artisanship – a tradition The Porter House Hotel Sydney – MGallery continues to honour.
The site now comprises two buildings – the new signature MGallery Hotel consisting of 122 guest rooms across the first 10 floors, together with 131 residential apartments called Castle Residences spanning the remaining floors of the 36-storey tower and the original Heritage listed Porter House.
The Challenge
The Porter House selected Mobiledock to enable the effective scheduling of deliveries into their loading docks, help prevent congestion and improve safety at the site.
